With "power rationing" hitting Old Detroit hard, Diana and Murphy decide to bring the Chairman on a ride along to show him the reality of the situation. A confrontation between Robo and a gang of thugs leaves him battered and dying, his only hope for survival in the hands of the family he was trying to rescue. Maurice Dean Wint, the leader of the Stompers gang, played the part of RoboCable in RoboCop Prime Directives. Recognize the kid? That's Dov Tiefenbach, who got his arm lopped off in Jason X, and more famously was the "Business Hippie" in Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle. Robo stunt double Ken Quinn gets numerous face shots in, when the cruiser explodes and during the finale. So Murphy's brain is dependent on a couple of loose wires? The effect of the city powering down from the Chairman's office window was easy; all of the OCP sets were designed to have bluescreen dropped over the city backdrops. This episode's finale introduces Robo's leg rams, which firmly plant him to the ground. These show up again three times (four if you include a test) in other episodes. Robo was conveniently driving a standard cruiser instead of his prototype Mustang when his vehicle was decimated. Robo tended to have episode specific damage, and this episode is no exception. Even the films reused battle-damaged parts. I'll be uploading the entire series as I find time, have fun and Stay Out Of Trouble.
