The Islands gone to the dogs but thats no reason to persecute them. At the start of this video you will see there are three notices at this entrance to the beach stating that dogs are not allowed on it, in fact this is the designated dog beach that they are allowed on to! The council have managed to put up the wrong notices all along this beach as you are in fact allowed to be on the beach provided you are 100metres out from the sea wall. In order to put these new incorrect notices up they had to take down all the correct ones which in turn they had to put up to replace all the previous ones which were also incorrect as the council had the map upside down when they designed them!.....The mind boggles...Still it makes no difference how much money they waste as there will be plenty more coming in every year from the council tax payers.

May 3, 2008 - How is it that anything else that is against the law, which failing to clear up after your dog is,is not mentioned on every lampost etc.? Take parking on the pavement which is an offense under the Highways Act and therefore against the law yet we are not bombarded with notices about that are we? And dog owners are blamed on mass because some irresponsible ones don't clear up. Are people banned from shops because some people shoplift? No.
isleofwightDOGS Says:
May 3, 2008 - Cont. So why do we who do obey the law have to suffer sanctions for the actions of the others when the council not only have the powers to fine these people but it is their responsibility to do so? As for putting up the wrong notices ONCE AGAIN this council cease to have any credibility whatsoever, they have already publicly proved that they can neither be believed or trusted, hence the sackings and suspensions,so why would anyone take any notice of their signs? We know they cock it up everytime

May 3, 2008 - Under animal welfare legislation owners are liable to prosecution if they fail to provide for their dogs welfare needs and to exhibit normal behaviour patterns, this includes adequate exercise for the specific breed , failure to do so may lead to the owner being banned from owning animals, fined up to £20,000 and/or sent to prison.
isleofwightDOGS Says:
May 3, 2008 - cont. Therefore councils excessively banning dogs from numerous areas are interfering with the owners legal responsibilities towards their animals and therefore leaving the owners open to legal action which in turn leaves the council open to legal action for putting the owners in that position.
isleofwightDOGS Says:
May 3, 2008 - Take for instance Ryde: Owners are banned from the majority of the beaches, Appley park-given to the people of Ryde for their recreation purposes is too dangerous during summer months as the council run a pitch and putt there, they are aware of the danger in this public park as they have erected notices there warning people! Which leaves Simeon Street Rec.- which they also tried and failed to restrict- and Rosemary lane.
isleofwightDOGS Says:
May 3, 2008 - There are a lot of dogs in Ryde, and besides the fact that not everybody has access to a car in order to take their dogs for a walk, the council should be actively encouraging people to not drive unnecessarily in order to cut emissions - What happened to Eco Island?
IsleofWightCouncil Says:
May 4, 2008 - Eco Island will set the standard and we don't talk enough hot air to make a hole in the ozone layer the size of the Isle of Wight!

Jul 28, 2008 - Eco Island will make me, a IOW loving holiday goer, go elsewhere. I don't want those lies to stretch any further than they already have. IOW could never be "Eco" anyways. First off cause it don't exist anyways, secondly, there are lights and arcades everywhere. HAHAHA Eco Island makes me laugh...HAHAHA!
KongoXIIV Says:
Jul 28, 2008 - Those signs say to me everytime: "Hahaha! We just raped you again...don;t you just LOVE IT!"
